CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 —101 <br />By: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF CLAGUE <br />ROAD FROM INTERSTATE 480 TO LORAIN ROAD IN THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />FOR SAID REPAIRS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for the reconstruction of Clague <br />Road from Interstate 480 to Lorain Road, as prepared under the direction of the Engineering <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted and the Cuyahoga County Engineer's Office, are on file <br />in the Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has received a grant for this project from the Ohio Public Works <br />Commission in the amount of $1,684,781; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids to construct said improvement in accordance with said plans and specifications <br />on file, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder <br />to perform said repairs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids to reconstruct Clague Road from Interstate 480 to Lorain Road, in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and further that, <br />upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and <br />execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused <br />to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right -of -way areas, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
