6 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -100 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF CONTROL TO <br />APPROVE AND THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO <br />THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH MIDDOUGH CONSULTING, INC., <br />PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES TO <br />BE RENDERED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ADMINISTRATION'S <br />PROPOSED EXPANSION OF THE CITY HALL FRONT ENTRANCE <br />PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2004 -146, adopted on October 5, 2004, authorized the <br />Director of Public Service to request proposals from design professionals for architectural <br />services relating to ADA improvements to the City Hall front entrance and parking area; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance, requests for proposals were issued, proposals <br />received, and, on December 14, 2004, the Board of Control awarded a contract for said <br />architectural services to Middough Consulting, Inc; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequently, due to the significant vacancy of space created at the <br />NOMBL garage by the departure of NOMBL in March 2005, the desire of the Administration, <br />with the concurrence of the Director of Law, to relocate the City's law department offices in the <br />City Hall at the conclusion of the City's lease of space for the Law Department in the <br />Community Building in February 2006, and as a result of a comprehensive review conducted by <br />the Administration to evaluate immediate and more long term space and location needs for every <br />administrative department in the City Hall complex, the Administration has proposed to expand <br />the City Hall Front Entrance project so as to create additional and revised office space on the <br />second floor of the City Hall building in and near the new foyer area; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to move forward on said proposed expanded project as above - <br />described, it is necessary to procure additional architectural services from Middough Consulting; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendations of the <br />Mayor and the City Planner, to authorize the Board of Control to approve an amendment to the <br />City's contract with Middough Consulting, Inc., and the Mayor to execute an amended contract, <br />providing for additional architectural services to be rendered to the City consistent with the <br />Administration's proposal to expand the City Hall Front Entrance project as above described; <br />
