CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 93 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES TO PURCHASE COMPUTERS AND <br />RELATED EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE THROUGH THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH <br />PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City has an immediate need to upgrade its computer system and migrate <br />to the newly installed City Hall server, which requires the purchase of additional computers, <br />monitors, firewall hardware, antispyware software, and Microsoft licenses; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds necessary for the purchase of these computers and related <br />equipment and software have been appropriated by this Council are available for this purpose; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of said computers and related equipment and software, <br />although in excess of Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) is not legally required by the City <br />Charter to be competitively bid locally, because said items are being purchased through the State <br />Purchase Program, which is a State - approved competitive bidding program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Personnel and <br />Administrative Services to purchase forty (40) computers and monitors, and Firewall Hardware, <br />from Dell, Antispyware from Sunbelt Software, and Microsoft Licenses from Software House <br />International, all through the State purchase program, as the lowest and best bidder, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, if necessary, to execute all <br />documents necessary to effectuate said purchases; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services be and she is <br />hereby authorized to purchase through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by <br />O.R.C. Section 125.04 and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to Ordinance <br />No. 87 -6, forty (40) computers and monitors, and Firewall Hardware, from Dell, Antispyware <br />from Sunbelt Software, and Microsoft Licenses from Software House International; and further, <br />that as necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other appropriate documents required <br />
