CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 91 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION A UTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO <br />FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A FISCAL YEAR 2005 <br />HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT, FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND <br />TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Police Department is in need of updated communications <br />and Tactical Unit Surveillance and Protective Equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government, through the Department of Homeland Security, is <br />offering grant money in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for purchase of these <br />items; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency is administering these grant <br />funds that would pay for the cost of these requested items; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Chief of Police to file an <br />Application for the FY 2005 Homeland Security Grant funded through the Federal Department of <br />Homeland Security and administered by the Ohio Management Agency, and to further authorize the <br />Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute all documents necessary to effectuate receipt <br />of the grant; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Chief of Police be and is hereby authorized to file an Application for <br />the FY 2005 Homeland Security Grant funded through the Federal Department of Homeland <br />Security and administered by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to obtain updated <br />communications and Tactical Unit Surveillance and Protective Equipment. It is not necessary for <br />the City of North Olmsted to match any funds received. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the grant, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute all documents necessary to <br />effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />
