CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 80 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady and the Entire City Council <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2005 MASTER <br />PLAN FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 2(b) of the City Charter currently provides for <br />the City Planning Commission to prepare a Master Plan for the City every four years; and <br />WHEREAS, said Article VII, Section 2(b) further provides that said Master Plan <br />prepared every four years shall be submitted to the City Council for its approval or <br />revision; and <br />WHEREAS, during the past year, following the appointment of the City's first <br />Director of Planning, the City Planning Commission, under the guidance of the said <br />Director of Planning and with the assistance of a Master Plan Steering Committee, has <br />diligently worked to develop a new comprehensive Master Plan for the City of North <br />Olmsted, the last such comprehensive plan having been prepared and adopted in 1992; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in order assist the City Planning Commission in its work, the City, <br />through the Director of Planning, applied for and obtained a Community Block <br />Development Grant ( "CDBG ") in the amount of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000), <br />which was utilized to retain the services of a planning consultant who assisted the City <br />Planning Commission in its work; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission completed its preparation of the new <br />2005 Master Plan, which contains, as required by the City Charter, recommended land <br />use classifications for every parcel of land within the City, and approved the said Master <br />Plan at a public meeting held on April 26, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, the new Master Plan prepared by the Planning Commission further <br />makes recommendations for policy and future actions by the City that will encourage <br />sound land use decision - making and development, as well as redevelopment, practices; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, a full and complete copy of said 2005 Master Plan is on file in the <br />office of the Director of Planning; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a review of the 2005 Master Plan, as <br />submitted to it by the Planning Commission, and, following said review, desires to <br />approve and adopt the same; <br />
