CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 74 By: Mayor O'Grady A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO PURCHASE A NEW 1.5 TON DUMP TRUCK AND TWO NEW 2.5 TON SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCKS WITH SNOWPLOWS AND COMPUTER SALT CONTROLS THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT OR AGREEMENTS WITH INTERNATIONAL TRUCK AND ENGINE CORP, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Service Department needs to purchase a new 1.5 ton dump truck and two new 2.5 ton single -axle dump trucks with snowplows and computer salt controls; and WHEREAS, the funds necessary for the purchase of these trucks have appropriated by this Council are available for this purpose; and WHEREAS, the contract or contracts for the purchase of the said trucks are not legally required by the City Charter to be competitively bid locally, because they are being purchased through the State Purchase Program, which is a State - approved competitive bidding program; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to purchase a new 1.5 ton dump truck and two new 2.5 ton single -axle dump trucks with snowplows and computer salt controls from International Truck and Engine Corp., through the State purchase program, as the lowest and best bidder, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, if necessary, to execute written purchase agreement(s); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by O.R.C. Section 125.04 and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to Ordinance No. 87 -6, one new 1.5 ton dump truck and two new 2.5 single axle dump trucks with snowplows and computer salt controls from International Truck and Engine Corp; and further, that as necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other appropriate documents required by the authorized vendor or the State of Ohio. Any such contract(s) executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and approved by the Director of Law.
