CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 72 <br />BY: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />RENEWED ONE -YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT WITH STEPHEN <br />CAMPBELL & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE <br />32 CHANNEL OPTICAL RECORDING EQUIPMENT USED BY THE <br />NORTH OLSMTED POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Stephen Campbell & Associates, Inc. [ "Campbell & Associates "], is <br />the current contractor providing maintenance services for the 32 channel optical <br />recording equipment used by the North Olmsted Police Department, and is, in fact, the <br />only contractor capable of providing such services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that this Council authorize the <br />Mayor to enter into a renewed one -year service contract with Campbell & Associates; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, because of the nature of the services being provided, the dollar <br />amount involved, and the fact that the subject contractor is a sole source provider, it is not <br />legally necessary that this contract be either competitively bid in accordance with the <br />provisions of the City Charter or subject to the City's formal RFP process; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendation of <br />the Chief of Police, to authorize the Mayor to enter into a renewed one -year service <br />contract with Campbell & Associates for maintenance of the Police Department's 32 <br />channel optical recording equipment; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMS TED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />renewed one -year service contract with Stephen Campbell & Associates, Inc., for <br />maintenance of the Police Department's 32 channel optical recording equipment in the <br />amount of Two Thousand Eight Hundred ($2,800.00) Dollars. Said contract shall be <br />substantially in the form of the document attached to this legislation as Exhibit A, with <br />such changes in form and substance that are not substantially adverse to the City and <br />which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of the contract as not being <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br />contract by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by the Director of Law. <br />
