CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 67 By: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CATCH BASIN, MANHOLE, SIDEWALK, CURBING, CONCRETE STEP AND CONCRETE PAVEMENT REPAIRS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE SANDY RIDGE SUBDIVISION, SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER AND POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR SAID REPAIRS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to perform repairs to catch basins, manholes, sidewalks, curbing, concrete step and concrete pavement at various locations in the Sandy Ridge Subdivision, Senior Citizens Center and Police Department in the City; and WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for said repairs, as prepared under the direction of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Engineering Department; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing, concrete step and concrete pavement repairs at various locations in the Sandy Ridge Subdivision, Senior Citizens Center and Police Department in the City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to perform said repairs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing, concrete step and concrete pavement repairs at various locations in the Sandy Ridge Subdivision, the Senior Citizens Center and Police Department in the City of North Olmsted, in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right -of -way areas, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
