CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 65 <br />By: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR <br />BIDS FOR ASPHALT PAVEMENT REPAIRS, RECYCLING AND <br />RESURFACING ALONG WITH RELATED CATCH BASIN, MANHOLE, <br />SIDEWALK AND CURBING REPAIRS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS <br />ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR SAID <br />REPAIRS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to perform asphalt pavement repairs, recycling and resurfacing along with related catch <br />basin, manhole, sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for said repairs, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the <br />Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids <br />for asphalt pavement repairs, recycling and resurfacing along with related catch basin, manhole, <br />sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City, and to further authorize the Mayor <br />to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to perform said repairs; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for <br />asphalt pavement repairs, recycling and resurfacing along with related catch basin, manhole, <br />sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City of North Olmsted, in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and further that, <br />upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and <br />execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused <br />to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right -of -way areas, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
