CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2005 - 26 BY: Council Member Dailey AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 139.13 OF CHAPTER 139 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY" FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A NEW POSITION OF "ASSISTANT COURSE /FACILITY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR" WITHIN THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF THE DIVISION OF SPRING VALE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety and the Springvale Facilities Manager have recommended that this Council amend the City's organizational chart in order to create a new position in the Division of Springvale to be known as "Assistant Course/Facility Maintenance Supervisor "; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to follow the recommendation of said City administrative officials and to create the said new non - bargaining unit position within the organizational chart of the Division of Springvale within the Department of Public Safety; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMMTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That there is hereby created new Section 139.13 of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances, entitled "Department of Public Safety." Said Section 139.13, as created, shall read in its entirety as follows: "139.13 ASSISTANT COURSE /FACILITY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR. There shall be, within the Division of Springvale, a full -time position entitled "Assistant Course/Facility Maintenance Supervisor," appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the Director of Public Safety, under the supervision of the Course/Maintenance Supervisor. The Assistant Course/Facility Maintenance Supervisor shall maintain and improve the grounds and physical plant at Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom as directed by the Course/Maintenance Supervisor. She shall have a four -year or two -year degree in horticulture, agronomy, turf management or related fields; three years experience with increasing responsibilities in the operations and maintenance of a golf course. She shall also be a certified pesticide applicator (or be qualified to obtain such certification), shall have a valid driver's license, and be willing to work flexible hours and weekends.
