JOB DESCRIPTION — ASSISTANT COURSE/MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (SPRINGVALE) Reports to: Course/Maintenance Supervisor /Facility Operations Manager General Purpose: To maintain and improve the grounds and physical plant at Springvale Gold Course and Ballroom Qualifications: Four -year or two -year degree in horticulture, agronomy, turf management or related field; three years of experience with increasing responsibilities in the operation and maintenance of a golf course. Certified pesticide applicator or ability to obtain, valid driver's license, willing to work flexible hours and weekends. Performance Responsibilities: • Support the mission, vision, and organizational values of Springvale. Provide leadership to ensure that employees understand and uphold such values. • Promote public relations, the sale of golf and ballroom events for profit and coordinate the efforts of employees toward this endeavor. • Coordinate communication and cooperation among employees of Springvale. • Train and supervise facility personnel in practices related to Safety and operational efficiency. • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and selection of operations support personnel. • Maintain records that quantify work/tasks performed by operations support personnel. • Supervise training, scheduling, assignment, oversight, and record keeping related to employees. Manage all subordinate personnel. Maintain and initiate discipline in keeping with personnel practices and legal perameters. • Assist in supervising maintenance and improvement of grounds and physical plant ensuring that proper fertilizers, pesticides, etc. are procured, stored, and applied appropriately and that all licenses, certifications and records are maintained as required by law. • Assist in planting and cultivation of ornamentals and other improvements to the Springvale property. • Evaluate course conditions and determine appropriate use of the golf course relative to play, carts, etc. • In addition to the general and specific duties above, perform any and all assignments made by the Course Maintenance Supervisor /Facility Operations Manager, the Safety Director, or the Mayor.
