JOB DESCRIPTION — ASSISTANT COURSE/MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR <br />(SPRINGVALE) <br />Reports to: Course/Maintenance Supervisor /Facility Operations Manager <br />General Purpose: To maintain and improve the grounds and physical plant at Springvale <br />Gold Course and Ballroom <br />Qualifications: Four -year or two -year degree in horticulture, agronomy, turf management <br />or related field; three years of experience with increasing responsibilities <br />in the operation and maintenance of a golf course. Certified pesticide <br />applicator or ability to obtain, valid driver's license, willing to work <br />flexible hours and weekends. <br />Performance Responsibilities: <br />• Support the mission, vision, and organizational values of Springvale. Provide leadership <br />to ensure that employees understand and uphold such values. <br />• Promote public relations, the sale of golf and ballroom events for profit and coordinate <br />the efforts of employees toward this endeavor. <br />• Coordinate communication and cooperation among employees of Springvale. <br />• Train and supervise facility personnel in practices related to Safety and operational <br />efficiency. <br />• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and selection of operations support personnel. <br />• Maintain records that quantify work/tasks performed by operations support personnel. <br />• Supervise training, scheduling, assignment, oversight, and record keeping related to <br />employees. Manage all subordinate personnel. Maintain and initiate discipline in <br />keeping with personnel practices and legal perameters. <br />• Assist in supervising maintenance and improvement of grounds and physical plant <br />ensuring that proper fertilizers, pesticides, etc. are procured, stored, and applied <br />appropriately and that all licenses, certifications and records are maintained as required <br />by law. <br />• Assist in planting and cultivation of ornamentals and other improvements to the <br />Springvale property. <br />• Evaluate course conditions and determine appropriate use of the golf course relative to <br />play, carts, etc. <br />• In addition to the general and specific duties above, perform any and all assignments <br />made by the Course Maintenance Supervisor /Facility Operations Manager, the Safety <br />Director, or the Mayor. <br />
