BY: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 9 <br />The Entire City Council <br />A RESOL UTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT WITH THE CLEVELAND BUILDING AND <br />CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF NEW FIRE STATION NO. 2, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide the Mayor with authority, if he so <br />deems it appropriate in order to advance the city's procurement interests in cost, efficiency, <br />quality, and in promoting labor- management stability during the construction of new Fire Station <br />No. 2, to enter into a project labor agreement with the Cleveland Building and Construction <br />Trades Council; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a project labor <br />agreement with the Cleveland Building and Construction Trades Council in connection with the <br />construction of new Fire Station No. 2. Said agreement shall be in a form and substance <br />acceptable to the Mayor and approved by the Director of Law as not substantially adverse to the <br />City. The character of any such agreement as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be <br />evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and its approval by the <br />Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to give the <br />Mayor sufficient time to negotiate and to not delay the timeline for the construction of Fire <br />Station No. 2; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds of all members <br />of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor.
