CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2005 - 1 BY: Council Member Kasler AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE RFP PROCESS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY SECTIONS 111.03 ET SEQ. OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, IF NECESSARY, TO ENTER INTO A FIVE -YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE WALTER H. DRANE COMPANY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ORDINANCE CODIFICATION SERVICES TO THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. WHEREAS, The Walter H. Drane Company has provided ordinance codification services to the City of North Olmsted for many years; and WHEREAS, the City has generally been satisfied with the professional services that have been provided over those years by The Walter H. Drane Company and believes that the fees charged by the company have been reasonable; and WHEREAS, municipal corporations require such professional services in order to effectively index and arrange adopted ordinances that are of a permanent nature; and WHEREAS, there are only a very limited number of companies in northeast Ohio that currently provide such codification services to municipal corporations; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to dispense with the formal RFP process provided for in Sections 111.03 et seq. of the Codified Ordinances, because of the continuing professional relationship between the City and The Walter H. Drane Company, and to authorize the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into a five -year agreement with The Walter H. Drane Company to continue to provide the ordinance codification services that the City requires; and WHEREAS, it is not legally required that the City competitively bid this contract because it is for professional services; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO:
