.? <n <br />, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 150 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE OHIO <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT'S PARTICIPATION IN THE THIRD GRADE <br />SAFETY BELT PROGRAM, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT <br />OF PUBLIC SAFETY SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS OF THE GRANT AND PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />SAID PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Police Department participated in the Ohio Department <br />of Public Safety's third grade seat belt program for the years 2006 and 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department desires to participate again in the Program in the year <br />2008; aild <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accept the grant that is provided to <br />participants in the said Program and to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with the <br />Ohio Department of Public Safety providing for the terms and conditions of participating in the <br />said Program; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE I T RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CI T Y OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CDUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Chief of Police, on behalf of <br />the City of North Olmsted, to accept a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety for the <br />North Olmsted Police Department's participation in the Third Grade Safety Belt Program, and <br />further authorizes the Mayor to execute the Contractual Agreement between the Ohio <br />Department of Public Safety/Governors Highway Safety Office and North Olmsted Police <br />Department, attached to this legislation as Exhibit A, and any other documents that may be <br />reasonable and necessary in order to effectuate the purposes of accepting the grant and <br />participating in the said Program. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary far the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, of this <br />City and for the further reason that this Resolution is required to be immediately effective so that <br />the City may accept the grant within the grant deadline; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
