??. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 145 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ACCEPT A GRANT <br />FROM THE NORTHEAST OHIO PUBLIC ENERGY COUNCIL <br />("NOPEC ") TO BE USED FOR ENERGY CONSER VA TION <br />PURPOSES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (°NOPEC"), as a result of new <br />efficiencies in its administrative operations, recently resolved to award monetary grants to its <br />member communities in a total amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the amount of the NOPEC grant to each individual community was based <br />upon the number of NOPEC customers in that community; and <br />WHEREAS, NOPEC has requested that each community use its grant for energy <br />conservation purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the NOPEC grant to the City of North Olmsted is in the amount of Five <br />Thousand Six Hundred Eight Dollars ($5,608.00); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to accept the said grant <br />on behalf of the City, to deposit the funds into the City's Endowment and Grant fund, and to use <br />the grant for energy conservation purposes as requested by NOPEC; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized, on behalf of the City of <br />North Olmsted to accept a grant from the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council ("NOPEC") in <br />the amount of Five Thousand Six Hundred Eight Dollars ($5,608.00) to be used by the City of <br />North Olmsted for energy conservation purposes. <br />SECTION 2: That said NOPEC grant be deposited into the City's Endowment and Grant <br />fund, and be used only for energy conservation purposes. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for <br />Lhe reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately because of end o: the <br />year financial accounting and receipting requirements, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />`1... ... .. ...-.:;.:.,i ,,,..,.r...;?: aemtPi"nW.. 101,i€:TM; f..fh„.C..,.. , , ...
