Cuyahoga County Safe Kids/Safe Communities Coalition <br />Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force <br />Targeted Enforcement Planning Worksheet for Federal OVI Funds <br />Federal Fiscal Year 2008 - October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008 <br />Section I. <br />Rules (Authorizing official must initial) <br />To he elisiblc for funding: <br />• Aeency must have demonstrated crash problem <br />• All law enforcement atencies participating in a countywide OV] lask ibrce or sobriety checkpoint grant aclivity are required to collect cun'ent calendar <br />year traflic erash data. This data is t(i he efven to ihe coordinating agenc), to compile monthly data reports for the site seleciion process and justitication <br />for OVI enRucement. <br />• Agency must commit local resources in addition to lederal Ilinds <br />• Agency must have ti safety belt use policy covering employees <br />• Agency employees MUST wear their safety belts while on patrol <br />• Agencq must agree to zero-tolerance enforcement qf Ohio's saiety belt and child safety seat laws <br />. The agencl' WiII assure diat all enforcement personnel to he involved in approved overtime enlorcement-related activitl' are certified <br />in the lollowing rypes(s) oftrainine, as appropriate: <br />OVI Checkpoints -- Sobriety Checkpoint Training <br />Alcohol-P.elated Traflic Enforcement -- Arresting Officers ONLY: Staiidard Field Sobriety Testin-, (SPS"1') or Advanced <br />Alcohol Detection Apprehension Prosecution (ADAP) <br />. Aeency must use full iime / overtime enforcement employees when using federal funds. No dispatchers; jailers_ clerical or court personnel may be paid <br />with these funds. <br />. Agency must become active in the Cuyahoga Couniy 5afe Kids/Safe Communities Coalition and the Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force. <br />• AgencV musl gain involvement of local media 1nd disclose funding source. This campaign is funded by the National Highway Trai'fic Safen? <br />Administration (NHTSA) through ihe Ohio Departmeni of Public Safeh, (ODPS) and University Flospitals Rainbow Bahies & Children's Hospilal <br />• Remember thatthis funding is awarded on a reimbursemeni basis. Aeency musl pay costs, submit claim and then be reimbursed actual costs. Only <br />salary (at 1'/ rate), and [lie employer's share of retirement, Mediclre and worker's compensa[ion costs will be reimbursed. <br />. Reimbursement Nvill not be made until agency submits the following fonns: GR-12, GR ?4A or GR-24C.
