CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2007 - 134 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 131.02 OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "AUTHORITY TD <br />ACCEPT DONATIONS, " IN ORDER TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT CERTAIN DONATIONS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, from time to time, individuals and businesses, acting out of eleemosynary <br />motives, offer to make donations of money or personal property to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to delegate authority to the Mayor to accept <br />such donations from time to time on behalf of the City, provide that the value of the donation <br />does not exceed One Thousand Dollars, and further provided that the donation represents a <br />gift witlZOUt any conditions attached or imposes any obligation on the part of the City to <br />provide matching funds or property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NURTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there be and hereby is created new Section 131.02 of the <br />Administrative Code entitled, "Authority to Accept Donations," which shall read in its <br />entirety as follows: <br />"131.02 AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT DONATIONS. <br />(A) The Mayor is authorized to accept donations of money and/or personal property on <br />behalf of the City, so long as: <br />(1) The donation represents an unconditional gift by the donor; <br />(2) The donation does not require that the City provide any matching funds or <br />property; and <br />(3) The fair market value of the donation does not exceed F4ve One Thousand <br />Dollars ($51,000.00). <br />(B) Prior to accepting anv such donation of mone y or_personal property that has a <br />value of at least Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00), <br />b-?-the Mayor shall submit a report to the Clerk <br />of Council , afid approved as to form and substance by <br />the Director of Law, trffd which shall state thftt the purpose for which the donation has <br />been made by the donor and, if the donation is money, the City fund into which the <br />donation shall be deposited. <br />
