CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2007 - 134 BY: Mayor O'Grady AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 131.02 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "AUTHORITY TD ACCEPT DONATIONS, " IN ORDER TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT CERTAIN DONATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, from time to time, individuals and businesses, acting out of eleemosynary motives, offer to make donations of money or personal property to the City; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to delegate authority to the Mayor to accept such donations from time to time on behalf of the City, provide that the value of the donation does not exceed One Thousand Dollars, and further provided that the donation represents a gift witlZOUt any conditions attached or imposes any obligation on the part of the City to provide matching funds or property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NURTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That there be and hereby is created new Section 131.02 of the Administrative Code entitled, "Authority to Accept Donations," which shall read in its entirety as follows: "131.02 AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT DONATIONS. (A) The Mayor is authorized to accept donations of money and/or personal property on behalf of the City, so long as: (1) The donation represents an unconditional gift by the donor; (2) The donation does not require that the City provide any matching funds or property; and (3) The fair market value of the donation does not exceed F4ve One Thousand Dollars ($51,000.00). (B) Prior to accepting anv such donation of mone y or_personal property that has a value of at least Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00), b-?-the Mayor shall submit a report to the Clerk of Council , afid approved as to form and substance by the Director of Law, trffd which shall state thftt the purpose for which the donation has been made by the donor and, if the donation is money, the City fund into which the donation shall be deposited.
