<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 -129 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR, ON BEHAL F OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTD AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO ASSOCIATION OF SECOND <br />HAR vEST FOOD BANKS. <br />WHEREAS, the Governor of Ohio, together with the George Gund Foundation <br />and the Olilo Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, has recently launched an effort <br />to enhance and expand the Ohio Benefits Bank, a web-enabled, counselor-assisted <br />program that lielps low- and moderate-income Ohio residents identify available benefits <br />while filing their taxes; and <br />WHEREAS, tlle Director of Community Life Services has recommended that this <br />Council authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Association of <br />Second Harvest Foodbanlcs, so that the City of North Ohnsted, through the Department of <br />CommUmity Sarvices, may participate in the said program in order to provide counseling <br />assistance to low- and moderate-income North Olmsted residents; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of <br />the Director of Commtilnity Life Services, to authorize theMayor to enter into such an <br />agreement with the Olilo Association of Second Harvest Foodbanlcs so that the City may <br />participate in this program to benefit low- and moderate-income residents of North <br />Olmsted; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />agi-eement with the Olilo Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks in order that the City <br />iiiay participate in the Olilo Benefits Banlc program. The agreement shall be substantially <br />in the form of the two-page "The Olilo Benefit Bank Site Operating Agreement" attached <br />to this Resolution and marl<ed as "Exhibit A," with only such chaiiges therein as are not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Mayor and the Director <br />of Law. The character of aiiy such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City <br />shall be evidenced coneltisively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the <br />approval of the agi-eement by the Director of Law. <br />.?--- -
