? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 1 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO <br />PROVIDE NEW PAVEMENT MARKINGS TO VARIOUS STREETS AT <br />VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE CITY, AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, IF NECESSARY, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME <br />WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, various streets at various locations throughout the City require new <br />pavement markings this year; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid a street pavement markings <br />contract this year, have been prepared by the Engineering Department, and are on file in said <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide new pavement markings to various <br />streets at various locations in the City, as set forth in the said specifications, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide new pavement markings to various <br />streets at various locations in the City, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the <br />Engineering Department, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of <br />Control, if necessary, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately so that the <br />subject streets can receive new pavement markings as soon as possible to in order to protect and <br />promote the safety of the motoring public, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
