' <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 19 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ASPHALT RESURFACING ON CONCRETE STREETS <br />AND ASPHALT RECYCLING ON ASPHALT STREETS ALONG WITH RELATED <br />CATCH BASIN, MANHOLE, SIDEWALK AND CURBING REPAIRS AT VARIOUS <br />LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR SAID REPAIRS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to <br />perform asphalt resurfacing on concrete streets and asphalt recycling on asphalt streets along with relateo <br />catch basin, manhole, sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for said repairs, as prepared under the d:_ection ot <br />the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for <br />bids for asphalt resurfacing and asphalt recycling along with related catch basin, manhole, sidewalk and <br />curbing repairs at various locations in the City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder to perform said repairs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for asphalt resurfacing on concrete streets and asphalt recycling on asphalt streets along with relater, <br />catch basin, manhole, sidewalk and curbing repairs at various locations in the City of North Olmsted, in <br />z-!?ordance with the plans and specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and further that, <br />upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and executF the same <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused to residents of the <br />City because of unperformed repairs to public right-of-way areas; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
