.7 (? .
NORTH OLMSTED HOT STOVE LEAGUE
MAIL TO ADDRESS: NOHSL
P.O
.Box 156
North Olmsted, OHIO
AOL ? 44070
RE: Pield Improvements for Diamond #4 and Diamond #5
This letter is to convey to the North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Committee our
intentions to improve the playing fields up at the North Olmsted Park for Diamond 44
and Diamond #5 on the lower, North end of the park. These improvements will be for
this year, 2007. We have also accepted a plan that will have us continue these
improvements with North Olmsted Clague Paxk both Diamond #1 and Diamond 92,
North Olmsted Park Diamond #4, North Olmsted Park Diamond #l, and Chestnut school,
over the next 4 years.
The North Olmsted Hot Stove Board of Directors have voted unanimously to renovate
the ball diamond know as Diamond #5 on the lower level by the intersection of West
Park Dr. and North Park Dr. In a private contract in which we surnused best value
response from Lawn Co. Inc., a sports turf landscape company, we have issued our -,
purchase order # 040406-900-03 for the renevati'o??of the infield and ('$12, tfield areas o
Diamond #5. We have put together a?chase order i the amount o250. and
will be increasing that figure by ano r$850.00 forile repairs on Diamon #5. ?
This purchase order covers loosing the existing soil in the infield, adding equal amounts
of soil conditioner across the surface of the dirt infield per 1,000 square feet, move soils
using material handlers and top dressers, divert standing water by filling low spots, and
correct elevation errors using a dual slope laser and a 6'.laser grader box. This also
includes double slicing seed into the soil by using a mechanical chain driven slice seeder
and top dress seed using a double cut straw blower. We will be applying 2-3 applications
of balanced rate N-P-K dry fertilizer to include a crab grass product to improve the turf
perfornlance tliroughout the season. We will also add at the appropriate time a broadleaf
weed control fertilizer. The entire project will be utilizing 15-25 yards of soil
conditioner, 75-100 yards of a top soil blend, a 400# seed blend and mixture, and 600#-
7004 fertilizer blend. We will also be adding a pitching mound with (3) rubbers that will
become permaneut so that the freshman baseball, Thurmon Munson, and "F" league
players can pitch from this nibber.
A second purchase order is going to be cut to the Elyria Fence Company to eapand the
baseline fence line on Diamond 44 that will allow the proper length of fence so that The
North Olmsted Travel Baseball can use this field for the..2?007 seasjQn. This purchase
;
order is a not to exceed purchase order in the amounf K$2,000.00.
