CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2007-29 BY: Council Member Tallon AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE RANGE OF COMPENSATION RATES AND SALARY RANGES FOR THE VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE PERSONNEL TO AUTHORIZE INCREASES IN THE SALARY RANGES FOR THE YEAR 2007 FOR THE NON-BARGAIN/NG UNIT POSITIONS OF SECRETARY 1 AND ll, THE CLERK OF COUNCIL AND FOR OTHER NON- BARGAINING UNIT POSITIONS WHOSE RANGES ARE DETERM/NED BY REFERENCE TO THE RANGE SET FOR THE NON-BARGAIN/NG UNIT POSITIONS OF SECRETARY I AND SECRETARY 11, AND TO OTHERWISE RESTATE THE COMPENSATION RATE RANGES FOR SA/D VAR/OUS ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE PERSONNEL FOR THE YEARS 2004 THROUGH 2007, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2004-164, adopted by this Council on December 21, 2004, as thereafter amended from time to time, established the compensation rate ranges and benefits for the City's various a(:..iinistrative and legisiative personnel for the years 2004 through 2007; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to increase the salary range for the non-bargaining unit positions of Secretary I and II, and the Clerk of Commissions, for the year 2007 only by amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 2004-164, as last amended, which presently reads as follows: Section 4: That the salary for nonbargaining unit Secretary I and Secretary II full and part time positions shall be determined by the Mayor, Director and/or Division Leader and be no greater than the highest step of the collective bargaining agreement for the respective positions plus 2.5%. WHEREAS, it is further the desire of this Council to increase the salary range for the non-bargaining unit position of Clerk of Council for the year 2007 only by amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 2004- 164, as last amended, which presently reads as follows: Section 5: That the following salary ranges are hereby established for legislative employees for the office of Council. The salaries in this Section shall be determined by the President of Council as appropriate. FROM TO Pay 2004 2005 2006 2007 Type A. Clerk of Council 855.19 1,560.32 1,630.53 1,703.91 1,742.24 BW B. Assistant Clerk of Council 656.54 717.42 749.71 783.44 801.07 BW C. Temporary Clerk of Council shall receive $15 PH per meeting and not less than $25 per meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO. SECTION 1: That Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 2004-164, as set forth above and in the most recent amendment to Ordinance No. 2004-164, are hereby amended, as set forth below: SECTION 2: That the following salary ranges of Ordinance No. 2004-164, as it has been from time to time thereafter amended, are hereby established or restated, as applicable: Section 1: That the following salary ranges are hereby established for administrative and legislative personnel of the City of North Olmsted. The salaries in this Section shall be determined by the Mayor as a?propriate. Page 1 of 8
