t <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 31 <br />$y: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE <br />DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE FIRE CHIEF IN <br />APPLYING FOR AN OHIO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY, DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, <br />OHIO EMS TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT GRANT, FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public has recently been apprized by the Fire Chief of the <br />availability of an Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Medical Services, <br />Ohio EMA Training and Equipment Grant, which would provide training equipment to the North <br />Olmsted Fire Department, including Adult IO devices and supplies, manuals, videos and a <br />manikin, with an approximate total value of $3,393.00; and <br />WHEREAS, because the application deadline for said grant is April 1, 2007, the Director <br />of Public Safety has authorized the Fire Chief to make application for said grant; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to ratify the actions of the Director of Public <br />Safety and the Fire Chief as in the best interests of the City and to further authorize the Mayor to <br />accept the grant, if awarded, on behalf of the City and to execute all documents necessary to <br />effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council ratifies the actions of the Director of Public Safety and the <br />Fire Chief in applying far an Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Medical <br />Services, Ohio EMA Training and Equipment Grant, which would provide training equipment to <br />the North Olmsted Fire Department, including Adult IO devices and supplies, manuals, videos <br />and a manikin, with an approximate total value of $3,393.00. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, on behalf of the City of North <br />Olmsted authorized to accept the said grant described in Section 1 above on the terms and <br />conditions provided, and to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the receipt of the grant. <br />
