<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 37 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br /> <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR, ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO A SERIES OF <br />NEW UTILITY SERVICE CONTRACTS WITH AT&T TO PROVIDE <br />TELEPHONE AND VOICEMAIL SERVICES TO THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, this Council, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2007 - 10, has authorized <br />the borrowing of funds to purchase new telecommunications equipment and related <br />software and appurtenances for the City Hall, the Police Department, Fire Stations #1 and <br />#2, the Recreation Center, the Senior Center, the Springvale Ballroom and Golf Course, <br />and the Wastewater Treatment Plant; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council further has pending before it additional legislation to <br />authorize the Director of Human Resources to purchase from Teleco of Cleveland, <br />pursuant to the State Purchase Program, the said new telecommunications equipment and <br />related software and appurtenances for which funds have been borrowed pursuant to <br />Ordinance No. 2007 -10; and <br />WHEREAS, the Directar of Human Resources has recommended to this Council <br />that the City enter into new service contracts with AT&T, replacing existing contracts <br />where necessary, to most efficiently and effectively match available AT&T utilit} <br />services with the new telecommunications equipment that the Administration has <br />proposed to be purchased for the City Hall, the Police Department, Fire Stations #1 and <br />#2, the Recreation Center, the Senior Center, the Springvale Ballroom and Golf Course, <br />and the Wastewater Treatment Plant; and <br />WHEREAS, the subject contracts with AT&T, a public utility providing utility <br />services to the City, are not required by the City Charter to be competitively bid; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, on the recommendation of the <br />Director of Human Resources, to authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to enter into <br />a series of contracts with AT&T, in order to provide utility services to the City in <br />conjunction with the purchase of new telecommunications equipment and relate software <br />and appurtenances for the City Hall, the Police Department, Fire Stations #1 and #2, the <br />Recreation Center, the Senior Center, the Springvale Ballroom and Golf Course, and the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant; <br />
