CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 39 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR, ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE BOARD OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO RECEIVE <br />FUNDS FROM THE FY2006 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT <br />PROGRAM ALLOTTED FOR THE START-UP COSTS OF THE CITIZEN <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, has requested <br />authorization from this Council to enter into an agreement with the Board of Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners to receive funds from the FY2006 State Homeland Security Grant Program <br />allotted for the start-up costs of the Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT); and <br />WHEREAS, the County will reimburse the City One Hundred (100%) percent for all <br />approved eligible expenses up to Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500.00) Dollars. <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City <br />of North Olmsted, to enter into an agreement with the Board of Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners to receive funds from the FY2006 State Homeland Security Grant Program <br />allotted for the start-up costs of the Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT). A copy of said <br />agreement is attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A." The County will reimburse the City One <br />Hundred (100%) percent for all approved eligible expenses up to Two Thousand Five Hundred <br />($2,500.00) Dollars. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to <br />the fact that the signed agreement is due to the County Commissioners by April 18, 2007; and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />?
