t <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 42 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE <br />TO PURCHASE VARIOUS VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE <br />SERVICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE <br />PROGRAM; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that the City purchase <br />certain vehicles and equipment to meet current Service Department needs, and further <br />recommends that such needs would be met by purchasing, through the State Purchase Program, a <br />2007 Chevy 5500 cab chassis, stainless steel dump body and snow plow; 2007 Ford F250 4x4 <br />crew cab pickup with plow and cap; and 2007 New Holland skid steers; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds necessary for the purchase of such vehicles and equipment have <br />been appropriated by this Council and are available for this purpose; and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of said vehicles and equipment, although in excess of Twenty- <br />Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) is not legally required by the City Charter to be competiti-Ply <br />bid locally, because said items are being purchased through the State Purchase Program, which is <br />deemed under the City Charter to meet the Charter requirements for competitive bidding; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />purchase said vehicles and equipment for the Service Department, all through the State Purchase <br />Program, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, if <br />necessary, to execute all documents necessary to effectuate said purchases; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />purchase through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by O.R.C. Section 125.04 <br />and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to Ordinance No. 87-6, a 2007 Chevy <br />5500 cab chassis, stainless steel dump body and snow plow; 2007 Ford F250 4x4 crew ?.ab <br />pickup with plow and cap; and 2007 New Holland skid steers; and further, that as necessary to <br />effectuate such purchases through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized <br />to execute any contract and/or other appropriate documents required by the authorized vendor(s) <br />or the State of Ohio. Any such contract(s) executed by the Mayor shall be in a fortn and <br />substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and approved by the Directar of Law. <br />
