h <br />? . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 44 <br />By: Mayor O' Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LA W TO APPL Y TO <br />CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY FOR A FEDERAL WORK-STUDY <br />AWARD FOR PAYMENT OF A PORTION OF THE COMPENSATION OF <br />THE CITY'S LA W CLERKS FOR THE PERIOD 2007-2008, A UTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH CLEVELAND <br />STATE UNIVERSITY REGARDING THE SAME, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Law has requested authorization to apply to Cleveland State <br />University to participate in a federal work study program that would pay One Hundred (100%) <br />percent of the amount of grant that the students would qualify for during the period 2007-2008; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously authorized participation in this Grant Program <br />for the years 2003 through 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Director of Law, and to <br />further authorize the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Cleveland State University providing <br />for the terms and conditions of participation in said program for the period 2007-2008; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Law be and he hereby is authorized to apply to <br />Lleveland State University to participate in a Federal Work Study Program that would provide an <br />award for payment for each of the City's Law Clerks during the period 2007-2008, and further <br />that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with Cleveland State <br />University providing for the terms and conditions of the City's participation in said program. <br />The Agreement shall be substantially in the form of the "Federal Community Service Learning <br />Program AgreemenY" attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to have <br />the Agreement executed prior to May 12, 2007 and returned to Cleveland State University <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
