<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 49 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION RETROACTIVELY A UTHORIZING THE <br />CHIEF OF POLICE TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A <br />FISCAL YEAR 2006 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT IN <br />ORDER TO ACQUIRE A VIDEO DETECTIVE SYSTEM AND <br />PROVIDE FOR TRAINING; FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO <br />EXECUTE A CONTRACT IF REQUIRED; FINALLY <br />AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE ALL <br />OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Police Department is in need of video stabilization and <br />enhancement equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government, through the Department of Homeland Security, is <br />offering a Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program Grant and will provide a Pyramid <br />Vision Technologies Video Detective system model #VD-LE-200 and training valued at Fifty <br />Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) to the North Olmsted Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to retroactively authorize the Chief of Police to <br />file an Application for the said FY 2006 Homeland Security Grant; to further authorize the Mayor <br />to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract if required; and to finally authorize the <br />Chief of Police to execute all other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Chief of Police be and is hereby retroactively authorized to file an <br />Application with the Department of Homeland Security for an FY 2006 Commercial Equipment <br />Direct Assistance Program Grant for the acquisition of and required training on a Pyramid Vision <br />Technologies Video Detective system model #VD-LE-200. In connection with this grant, it is <br />not required that the City provide any matching funds. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the grant, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required; and that <br />the Chief of Police be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute all other documents necessary to <br />effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />
