<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 61 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />??. <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />HUMAN RESOURCES TO APPLY FOR A DRUG FREE <br />WORKPLACE PROGRAM SAFETY GRANT FROM THE OHIO <br />BUREAU OF WORKERS COMPENSATION TO PARTIALLY <br />REIMB URSE THE CITY FOR FUNDS EXPENDED ON <br />EMPLOYEE EDUCATION AND SUPERVISOR TRAINING; <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE <br />GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE OHIO B UREA U OF WORKERS COMPENSATION; <br />AND FINALL Y A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO EXECUTE ALL OTHER NON-CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE RECEIPT OF <br />THE GRANT. <br />WHEREAS, participants of the Bureau of Workers Compensation Drug Free Workplace <br />Program are eligible to receive a 3-1 matching grant, up to a maximum of $15,000 for employee <br />education and supervisor training; and <br />WHEREAS, this year City employees received education and supervisors receiving <br />training regarding the Drug Free Workplace program at a total cost to the City of $1,870.00, and <br />the City is therefore eligible to apply for a grant to reimburse it for $1,402.50 of the City's costs; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human Resources <br />to apply for a said Bureau of Workers Compensation Drug Free Workplace Program Safety <br />Grant; to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract <br />with the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation; and to finally authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to execute all other non-contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Human Resources be and is hereby authorized to apply <br />for a Drug Free Workplace Program Safety Grant from the Ohio Bureau of Workers <br />Compensation in the amount of $1,402.50 and in the form of Exhibit A attached to this <br />Resolution. <br />
