<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 65 <br />By: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE THOIISAND <br />(5,000) TONS OF STONE FOR VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br />NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE CITY, AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />FOR SAID PURCHASE, AFTER BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to purchase Five Thousand (5,000) tons of stone for various Service Department needs <br />throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said purchase, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service <br />Director's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for Five Thousand (5,000) tons of stone for various Service Department needs <br />throughout the City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder to purchase said stone, after Board of Control approval; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for Five Thousand (5,000) tons of stone in accordance with the specifications <br />now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon approval by the Boar' of <br />Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the <br />City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to enter <br />into new contracts for these supplies, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor.
