,? ., ,??,? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 89 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING TO PROCEED <br />WITH NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE SALE OF CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY ON <br />LORAIN ROAD IDENTIFIED AS PERMANENT PARCEL NUMBER 233-25-009 <br />AND KNOWNAS THE FORMER SITE OF NORTH OLMSTED FIRE STATION 2, <br />AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />TO SELL THE REAL PROPERTY. <br />WHEREAS, the City owns approximately one-third acre of improved commercial <br />property located at 29374 Lorain Road (Permanent Parcel No. 237-09-003) which was formerly <br />used by the City as the site of Fire Station 2; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration finds that there are no public uses for the subject real <br />property and that the City is expending resources to maintain the property, and accordingly <br />recommends that it be sold; and <br />WHEREAS, the property does not abut any residential property in the City and is entirely <br />surrounded by other commercial property; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning to proceed with negotiations related to the sale of this real property, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract for the sale of t11e real property at a price that i,; no <br />less than three-quarters of the appraised value of the property; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council finds that the real property owned by the City at 29374 <br />Lorain Road, the former site of Fire Station 2, and identified as Permanent Parcel Number 233- <br />25-009, is surplus real property for which the City has no governmental use. <br />SECTION 2: That the Director of Planning be and she is hereby authorized to proceed <br />with negotiations to sell the said real property described in Section 1 above. <br />SECTION 3: That, upon completion of negotiations with a willing, ready and able <br />purchaser, the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract, and such other documents as are <br />required, to sell the said real property to such purchaser for a price that is no less than three- <br />quarters of the appraised value of the property.
