CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -178 BY: Mayor Musial A RESOLUTION APPROVING OF AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTYAND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ("AFSCME"), OHIO COUNCIL 8, LOCAL 2681 FOR THE CITY'S CLERICAL & TECHNICAL UNIT EMPLOYEES, FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 2004 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2007 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation calling for collective bargaining agreements with public employees; and WHEREAS, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees ("AFSCME"), Ohio Council8, Loca12681, has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent far the City's Clerical & Technical Unit employees; and WHEREAS, the Administration has conducted interest-based bargaining this year with the members of said bargaining unit and has concluded that IBB process with an agreement that is satisfactory to the Administration and the bargaining unit; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve of and authorize the Mayor to enter into a collective bargaining agreement AFSCME, Ohio Council8, Loca12681 on behalf of the said Clerical & Technical Unit employees, for the period July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2007; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by and between the Administration and AFSCME, Ohio Council 8, Loca12681, on behalf of the City's Clerical & Technical Unit employees, a copy of which is attached to this legislation as "Exhibit A," is approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute the said Agreement. SECTION 2: That the effective date of any and all wage and other economic benefits provided for.in the said Agreement, unless otherwise expressly specified therein, shall be July 1, 2004.
