mutuai agreement, the issue of Health care coverage shall be submitted to binding <br />conciliatian under the O, R. C. 4117. <br />ARTICLE 20- JURY. WITNESS PAY AND COURT PAY <br />Section 1. An empioyee called for jury duty shall be granted a leave of absence for the <br />period of jury service and wili be compensated at full pay for absences necessarily caused by <br />the jury duty. The employee shall be entitled to retain jury pay received as reimbursement for <br />expenses incurred in performing jury duty. An employee who is required ta be absent from <br />scheduled work to serve as a witness on a City related issue will be paid for time lost from <br />scheduled straight time work. An employee who is called as a witness due to his part-time <br />employment in the area of public law enforcement with the City of North O(msted shall receive <br />his regular rate of pay from the City. <br />ARTICLE 21- SAFETY AND HEALTH <br />Section 1. The City and the Union recognize that each party must comply with the <br />applicable state and federal laws with respect to safety and health. The City shall cantinue to <br />make reasonable provisions for the safety and health of its employees. (Recreation Department <br />and Maintenance Personnel Only) <br />A. Required personal protective equipment shall be issued to regular full-time employees and <br />shall be replacetl if the equipment is worn out and is returnetl to the City for replacement cost, <br />except in cases: <br />(1) In which the equipment was destroyetl by accidental conditions beyond the <br />employee's control in the work area, or <br />(2) If the equipment has been stolen and the City has failed to supp(y the employee with a <br />place to lock up his equipment. <br />B. A Safety Committee consisting of two (2) representatives from management and two (2) safety <br />representatives appointed by the local union may confer as necessary for the purpose of <br />attempting to maintain safe working conditions. <br />Section 2. In the event an employee reasonably believes that a situation is unsafe, the <br />employee shall notify his supervisor immediately. The supervisor shall investigate the situation <br />29
