To the extent permitted by the insurance provider's rules, employees may convert to <br />individual policy upon termination of employment or retirement. <br />SECTION 9: Health Insurance <br />The employer shall provide either individual or family medical insurance coverage at the <br />employees option for each full-time salaried employees. Effective January 1, 2001; healtli care <br />benefits for salaried employees shall be governed by the City of North Olmsted Ordinance No. <br />95-88 and any revisions to this ordinance. <br />SECTION 10: Sick Leave, Jury Duty, Funeral Leave, Parental Leave, Probationary <br />Period, and Payment of Accumulative Sick Leave Credit <br />These benefits shall be governed by City of North Olmsted Ordinance No. 93-26, 95-130, <br />2000-33 and 2002-08 and any revisions thereof. <br />SECTION 11: Incentive Day <br />For the year 2004, all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall receive three <br />(3) eight hour days off with pay, or may elect to be paid for three (3) eight (8) hours days, for <br />each six (6) continuous month period of unused sick leave. No month shall be counted in more <br />than one period. <br />Effective January l, 2005, each full-time salaried employee who does not use sick leave <br />time for any calendar quarter (i.e., Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, or Oct-Dec), shall receive eight <br />(8) hours off or at his or her option the cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, for each such cal.endar <br />quarter. In addition, if such employee does not use sick leave time for any calendar half (i.e., <br />Jan-Jun, ar Jul-Dec), he or she shall receive an additional eight (8) hours off or at his or her <br />option the cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, for each such calendar half. (This provision shall <br />be construed so that employees may receive no more than a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours <br />each calendar year.) Such bonus days may be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the City and <br />the employee. Such bonus days must be taken within one year of accrual. Up to one absence per <br />year for attending a funeral may be used without affecting eligibility for bonus days. <br />In order to transition from the pre-January l, 2005, perfect attendance program to the <br />January l, 2005 perfect attendance program, employees who, on December 31, 2004 were in the <br />process of earning a perfect attendance bonus under the pre-January l, 2005 program, shall <br />receive a pro-rated bonus under the first sentence of this section, calculated on months of perfect <br />attendance between July 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004, rounded down to the nearest month, <br />e.g., four and one-half (4 %z) months as of December 31, 2004 equals four (4) months of bonus <br />earned. <br />SECTION 12: <br />That Ordinance No. 2003-141 be specifically repealed and any other Ordinances or• parts <br />of Ordinances in conflict are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 13: <br />That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further i•eason <br />that it is immediately necessary to provide for the continuity of service of the North Olmsted <br />Municipal Bus Line, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor.
