CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -144 <br />By: Council Mem6er Limpert <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOC% <br />GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005 FOR THE EXTERIOR <br />MAINTENANCE GRANT PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, by and through Resolution No. 2003-30, a Citizens <br />Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG); and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing conducted on August 24, 2004, has <br />determined that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recommending the above entitled project applications; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has, with the assistance of CDBG funds, initiated an Exterior <br />Maintenance Grant Program and has designated said project as eligible for funding through the <br />CDBG program, for up to a maximum award of $75,000.00, as funded by the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered for the City of North <br />Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners (County Commissioners); and <br />WHEREAS, these projects will provide compliance with the Improvement Target Area <br />national objective of CDBG funding within an improvement target area; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to make <br />application for CDBG funding for said projects; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize and direct the Director of the <br />Department of Planning, to prepare and hereby further authorizes the Mayor of the City of North <br />Olmsted to sign and submit an Application for Community Development Block Grant funds for <br />fiscal year 2005, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, including the project described as <br />Exterior Maintenance Grant Program, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 and further providing <br />for the participation as described. <br />
