CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -144 By: Council Mem6er Limpert A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOC% GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005 FOR THE EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE GRANT PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, this Council created, by and through Resolution No. 2003-30, a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG); and WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing conducted on August 24, 2004, has determined that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council recommending the above entitled project applications; and WHEREAS, the City has, with the assistance of CDBG funds, initiated an Exterior Maintenance Grant Program and has designated said project as eligible for funding through the CDBG program, for up to a maximum award of $75,000.00, as funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered for the City of North Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners (County Commissioners); and WHEREAS, these projects will provide compliance with the Improvement Target Area national objective of CDBG funding within an improvement target area; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to make application for CDBG funding for said projects; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize and direct the Director of the Department of Planning, to prepare and hereby further authorizes the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to sign and submit an Application for Community Development Block Grant funds for fiscal year 2005, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, including the project described as Exterior Maintenance Grant Program, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 and further providing for the participation as described.
