CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -142 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH FAIRVIEW HOME IMPROVEMENT <br />COMPANY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REMOVING AND <br />REPLACING THE ROOF OF THE SENIOR CENTER, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WWEREAS, the roof at the Senior Center is in need of replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service, after <br />having received quotes from several different vendors, that the necessary roofing work <br />would be most responsibly and economically done by Fairview Home Improvement <br />Company; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the type of services involved and dollar amount of the <br />proposed expenditure, to-wit: $11,150.00, it is not legally necessary that this contract be <br />publicly bid or procured through the City's formal RFP process; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into an agreement with Fairview Home Improvement Company, for the purpose of <br />removing and replacing the roof of the Senior Center; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of North Olmsted, an Agreement with Fairview Home Improvement <br />Company, in the amount of $11,150.00, for the purpose of removing and replacing the <br />roof of the Senior Center; and that the agreement be in a form approved by the Director <br />of Law and consistent with the letter contract submitted by Fairview Home Improvement <br />Company, which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately in order that the work may be completed, and the roof in need of <br />replacement be replaced, before the inclement winter weather season, and further <br />
