request does not fall into the category of being termed a short time request. <br />For the purpose of this Agreement, a short time request is when there are ten (10) or <br />less calendar days between the date requested off and when the request was made. <br />Any time requested that is a short time request is subject to cancellation by the <br />Employer during the ten (10) day period to include the requested date itself. <br />To provide fairness to all employees, any form of time off requested and approved will <br />not be canceled or changed without written approval from the Chief of Police or <br />designee. <br />ARTtCLE 17: <br />HOLIDAYS <br />SECTION 1: All full-time employee shall receive the following <br />paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day <br />President's Day <br />Easter <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />1 /2 day Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />Employee's Personal Day <br />Good Friday <br />1/2 day New Year's Eve <br />SECTION 2: All full-time employees shall be entitled to the holidays listed in Section 1 <br />during the year and shall not be required to work on these holidays, unless scheduled <br />to work by the Chief of Police. In the event the employee either works or was not <br />scheduled to work for reasons other than holiday leave on one of the above listed <br />holidays, then the employee shall receive another day off from work to replace the <br />holiday he worked or was not required to work for reasons other than ho(iday leave. <br />SECTION 3: Each employee shall receive time and one half their regular hourly wage <br />for all hours worked on a designated holiday (except for "Personat" day), or receive <br />time off in lieu thereof as approved by the Chief of Police. <br />This does not provide dispatchers with the contraetual right to receive double <br />time payment for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours on a holiday. <br />15
