CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2004 -129 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH OI.MSTED TO <br />ENTER INTO A RENEWAL AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY <br />FOR THE LEASE OF TWO (2) EA.AN/PVS S NIGHT VISION GOGGLES TO BE i7SED BY <br />THE NORTH OLMSTED FOLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARINGAN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to eirter into a renewal <br />agreement with the Deparhnent of the Navy for the lease of two EA.AN/PVS-5 night vision goggles to be <br />used by the North Olmsted Police Deparkment for the period September 30, 2004 through September 30, <br />2005; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a renewal agreement <br />with the Department of the Navy for the lease of two (2) EA.AN/PVS-5 night vision goggles for use by the <br />North Olmsted Police Deparlment for the period September 30, 2004 through September 30, 2005, in <br />substandally the form and substance of the "Agreement with State/Local Law Enforcement Ageneies for <br />Temporary Use of Department of the Navy Equipment/Facilities for Law Enforcement Purposes," attached <br />to this Resolution and marked as "Exhibit A." <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution immediately go into effect so that the Police Department may immediately <br />obtain equipment needed for vital law enforcement purposes, and further provided it receives the <br />affirniative vote of two-thirds of the members of tlus Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately u?n its approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: _)UO?l FirstReading.• (37 <br />? ?
