... <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 123 <br />BY: Councilman Michael Gareau, Jr. <br />A RESOL UTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY, TO ENTER INTO ANAGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOIISING AND URBAN DEYELOPMENT <br />("HUD') FOR INTERIM REFERRALS AND OTHER HUD <br />SERVICES.. <br />N'HEREAS, this Council created and adopted Chapter 1901 of the Codified <br />Ordinances as the City's Fair Housing Code on September 17, 1996 (Ordinance No. <br />1996-154); and <br />WHEREAS, following H(JD's review of and comment upon the City's Fair <br />Housing Code for substantial equivalency with Title VIII of the 1968 Civil Rights Act, as <br />amended, this Council amended and revised Chapter 1901 on Sept 2, 1998 (Ordinance <br />No 1998-85); and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Fair Housing Review Board initiated <br />communications with HLTD regarding the establishment of a fair housing program, based <br />on the City's Fair Housing Code, resulting in a memorandum of understanding proposal <br />from HUD and an invitation to enter this Agreement for Irrterim Referrals or other <br />Utilization of Services; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, following the initiative of the Fair <br />Housing Review Board, for the City to enter into this Agreement for Interim Referrals <br />with HCTD and to further the policy of the Fair Housing Code; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of North Olmsted, an Agreement for Interim Referrals or Other <br />Utilization Services between the Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />("HUD") and the City, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit I, subject to such <br />revisions as may be approved by the Director of Law.. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest period allowed by law. <br />.??... ..: . . . . t ? ..?,?, .T?
