<br />I -- <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -114 <br />By: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE <br />DIVISION OF AGING TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL TITLE III-C <br />NUTRITION PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS FOR FISCAL 2005 AND 2006 ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY AND, IF THE APPLICATION IS GRANTED, <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA OFFICE ON <br />AGING TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT FUNDING ON BEHALF OF 7HE CITY, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, upon the initiative and recommendation of Don Copeland, Director of <br />Human Resources, this Council has authorized the establishment of the Title III-C nutrition <br />program now operated by the Division of Aging at the Multipurpose Senior Center, including <br />support personnel to manage and operate the program, and authorization of the existing Title III- <br />C grant application and Agreement for fiscal 2003-2004 (Resolution Nos. 2002-120, 2002-205 <br />and Ordinance Nos. 2003-44 and 2003-67); and <br />WHEREAS, the existing Title III-C nutrition progam has enjoyed tremendous success at <br />the Senior Center each Tuesday and Thursday, expanding into the Community Cabin for dining <br />facilities, which has resulted in proposals for collaborative efforts with neignboring <br />communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Title III-C grant application for fisca12005-2006 is a renewal and <br />continuation of the existing program funding and current Agreement with the Western Reserve <br />Area Office on Aging (Current Grant Application, Part I& Part II, total of 148 pages, on file in <br />Division of Aging and available for review upon request); and <br />WHEREAS, the Title III-C grant application for fisca12005-2006 has been <br />recommended by the Department of Human Resources Advisory Board and the Division of <br />Aging/Senior Center Advisory Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's financial participation in the current and continued Title III-C <br />nutrition program has been and will be limited to in-kind contributions, such as facility usage, <br />utilities, staffing, NOCOP transportation, and office supplies; and <br />N'HEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to continue and sustain the Title III-C <br />nutrition program operated by the Division of Aging for the benefit of senior citizens and to <br />therefore authorize the renewal of grant program application and Agreement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO:
