CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 28 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS WITH AN OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />PROVIDING, ON A CONTRACT BASIS, LEAF PICK-UP SERVICE THROUGHOUT THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, UPON <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE <br />LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City's leaf pick-up contract with its present contractor expires this year; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for <br />bids for a new contract and for the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLINCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids <br />for contract leaf pick-up service throughout the City, all of which shall be in accordance with specifications now <br />on file in his office, and that upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter <br />into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is <br />necessary for this Resolution to go into effect immediately in order to have a contract in place in time for the <br />City's leaf pick-up program for 2004, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor <br />PASSED: roFirstReading: 7 lp <br />Second Reading- ? /v <br />Third Reading•? 3/ 1& G ` <br />Committee: <br />ATT, <br />,. t <br />BARBARA L.
