? w <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 62 <br />BY; Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING OF AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF <br />STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ("AFSCME'), <br />OHIO COUNCIL 8, LOCAL 3517 FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF <br />THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE ("NOMBL "), <br />FOR THE PERIOD AUGUST 1, 2003 THRODGH JULY 31, 2006 <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />N'HEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation <br />calling for collective bargaining agreements with public employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees <br />("AFSCME"), Ohio Council 8, Local 3517, has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining <br />agent for the full-time bus operators, dispatcher/drivers, mechanics, hostlers, equipment <br />servicers and material handlers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line ("NOMBL"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has bargained with the members of said bargaining <br />units and has concluded that bargaining with an agreement that is satisfactory to the <br />Administration; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Councit to approve of and authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into a collective bargaining agreement AFSCME, Ohio Council 8, Local 3517 on behalf <br />of the said employees of NOMBL, for the period August l, 2003 through July 31, 2006; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the collective bazgaining agreement negotiated by and between the <br />Administration and AFSCME, Ohio Council8, Loca13517, on behatf of the full-time bus <br />operators, dispatcher/drivers, mechanics, hostlers, equipment servicers and material handlers of <br />NOMBL, a copy of which is attached to this legislation as "Exhibit A," is approved and the <br />Mayor is authorized to execute the said Agreement. <br />SECTION 2: That the effective date of any and a11 wage and fringe benefits provided <br />for in the said agreement, unless otherwise expressly specified therein, shall be August l, 2003. <br />
