CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - 70 <br />By: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERYICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CATCH BASIN, MANHOLE, SIDEWALK, <br />CURBING AND ASPHALT PAYEMENT REPAIRS AT vARIOUS <br />LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZIIVG THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />FOR SAID REPAIRS, AND DECI.ARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to perform repairs to catch basins, manholes, sidewalks, curbing and pavement at <br />various locations in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifrcations for said repairs, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the <br />Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various <br />locations in the City, and ta fiirther authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest <br />and best bidder to perform said repairs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various <br />locations in the City of North Olmsted, in accardance with the plans and specifications now on file <br />in the Engineering Department, and further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the <br />Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North <br />Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for ihe <br />further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused <br />to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right-of-way areas, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it sha11 take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />? ,.>,. ..?
