CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004 - 85 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2002-14 TO ELIMINATE <br />THE "WE CARE" PROGRAM FOR CITY EMPLOYEES AND THEIR <br />DEPENDENTS, AND TO OTHERWISE RESTATE THE PROGRAM FEES <br />FOR THE USE OF THE CITY'S PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES, <br />AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, by virtue of Ordinance No. 2002-14 (which repealed and replaced <br />Ordinance No. 96-114) Council has established rates and fees for the use of the facilities and <br />programs of the Parks and Recreation Department, including therein continuation of the "We <br />Care" Program for municipal employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Commissioner and the Director of Public Safety have, in the <br />course of administering the "We Care" program, determined and recommended that amendments <br />are necessary for the effective operation of the Recreation Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Commissioner has, by and through the Director of Public <br />Safety, requested amendment of the "We Care" Program to clearly define eligibility <br />requirements for program participation by municipal employees, their spouses and children; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission, at its meeting of March 1, 2004, <br />unanimously endorsed the Safety Director's recommendation for amendments to the "We Care" <br />program, subject to the review of the Law Department and adoption by this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, however, upon committee review, to <br />eliminate the "We Care" program for City employees and their dependents, and to otherwise <br />restate the program fees for the use of the City's parks and recreation facilities as set forth in <br />Ordinance No. 2002-14; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 2002-14, which currently reads as follows <br />"SECTION 1: That an identification card be established for all program registrants and residents of the <br />City of North Olmsted who wish to participate in programs or utilize facilities of the North Olmsted Parks <br />and Recreation Department. <br />A. Identification cards shall be issued by the Parks and Recreation Department and shall include the <br />name, phone number, and picture of the cardholder. <br />B. Fees for processing of these identification cards shall be $1.00 per card to be renewed on an <br />annual basis. Replacement of an identification card shall have a fee of $.75 and each additional <br />card required for a family of more than five members shall have a$.50 fee. <br />C. The Parks and Recreadon Commissioner shall establish times that identification cards are <br />available for purchase and an appropriate registration form.
