CITY OF N4RTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 205 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOL UTION AUTHORIZING .9ND DIRECTING THE MAYOR FOR AND ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON AGING TO ACCEPT <br />FUNDS FROM SAID AGENCY FOR THE CITY'S PROGRAMS UNDER THE <br />TITLE III OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT OF 1965 (42 IISC 35) WHICH <br />PROVIDES FUNDING FOR NUTRITION SITE PROGRAMS A1VD PARTIAL <br />FUNDING FOR SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMS THEREUNDER AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is administering a <br />program of grants frorn the Federal Government under Title III of the 1965 Older <br />Americans Act (42 USC 35) whereby the City may obtain funds to provide programs for <br />persons 60 years of age or older; and <br />N'HEREAS, the City has applied to VVRAAA, pursuant to the authority of <br />Ordinance No. 2002-120, to obtain said Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, VVRAAA has awarded a Grant to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract setting <br />forth the conditions of the Crrant; <br />NOW TAEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII. OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging which contract will provide <br />partial funding for the City's Programs under Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act <br />(42 USC 35) to include nutrition site programs. The Contract shall be in the form of the <br />Agreement attached to this Resolution as "Exhibit A." <br />SECTION 2: That this Resalution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately so that <br />the December 31, 2002 deadline for accepting the Crrant may be met, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of a11 members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
