CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -170 BY: Mayor Musial A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH RAMSEY & ASSOCIATES PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT, ING, TO PROVIDE TESTING SERVICES TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION IN CONNECTION WITH THE FIRE CHIEF PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, as the result of the retirement of Fire Chief Ed Bak on October 11, 2002, a vacancy has been created in the office of the Fire Chief for the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission, upon receiving formal notice of the vacancy from the Director of Public Safety on October 22, 2002, came under a duty to schedule a promotional examination on or before December 21, 2002; and WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission, after reviewing resumes and materials from several testing companies, determined at its October 22, 2002, regular meeting that the City should retain the services of Ramsey & Associates Personnel Management, Inc., to provide testing services in the form of a written examination and oral assessment in connection with the Fire Chief promotional examination; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with Ramsey & Associates Personnel Management, Inc., to provide said services to the Civil Service Commission; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement with Ramsey & Associates Personnel Management, Inc., to provide testing services, to wit: a written examination and oral assessment, and related services, in connection with the Fire Chief promotional examination to be administered by the Civil Service Commission, in substantially the form and substance of the "Examination Proposal -- North Olmsted," attached to this Resolution and marked as "Exhibit A."
