CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 167 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR 4F THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO A RENEWAL AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF T'HE NAVY FOR THE LEASE OF <br />TWO (2) EA.AN/PYS-S NIGHT VISION GOGGLES TO BE USED BY <br />THE NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a renewal <br />agreement with the Department of the Navy for the lease of two EA.ANIPVS-5 night vision <br />goggles to be used by the North Olmsted Police Department; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COIINTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a renewal <br />agreement with the Department of the Navy for the Lease of two (2) EA.AN/PVS-5 night vision <br />goggles for use by the North Olmsted Police Department, in substantially the form and substance <br />of the "Agreement with State/L,ocal Law Enforcement Agencies for Temporary Use of <br />Department of the Navy Equipment/Facilities for Law Enforcement Purposes," attached to this <br />Resolution and marked as "Exhibit A." <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this Resolution immediately go into effect so that the <br />Police Department may immediately obtain equiprnent needed for vital law enforcement <br />purposes, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of <br />this Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its approval by the Mayor. <br />? <br />PASSED: <br />AT ST.• <br />Barbara L.
