CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002 - 1:54 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE <br />NO. 2002-143, IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH.A NEW FEE SCHEDULE <br />FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVI(:'E AND AMBULANCE <br />TRANSPORTATION, AND DECLARING A?V EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, charges for emergency medical service and ambulance transportation are lower <br />in North Olmsted than in sunounding communities that charge for EMS runs; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to establish new rates for emergency medical service and <br />ambulance transportation by listing exact charges for specific types of care during transport, in order <br />to maxirnize commercial payors' Usua1, Customary, Reasonable (UCR) rates; and <br />WHEREAS, the current rates for such services are set forth in Ordinance No. 2002-103; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATF. OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2002-103, which presently reads as <br />follows: <br />"All residents and non-residents receiving emergency medical service and or ambulance transportation <br />sha11 pay a utilization charge therefore on a per person, per call basis determined as follows: <br />A. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT <br />B. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT WITH OXYGEN <br />C. ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT <br />D. ONE-WAY MII.,EAGE <br />page 1 <br />Per applicable and current <br />Medicare and Medicaid <br />reimbursement rates. <br />$ 3.50 per mile" <br />
