CITY OF NURTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -120 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTI'NG THE DIRECTOR OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED TO APPLY TO THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA <br />AGENCY ON AGING FOR FUNDS FROM SAID AGENCY FOR THE CITY'S <br />PROGRAMS LINDER TIfE TITLE Ili OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT OF 1965 <br />(42 iISC 35) WHICH PROVIDE FUNDING FOR TRANSPORTATION, <br />NUTRITION AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS, AND PARTIAL FUNDING FOR <br />SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMS THEREUNDER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging administers a program <br />of grants from the Federal Government under Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act <br />(42 USC 35) whereby the City may obtain funds to provide programs for persons 60 <br />years of age or older. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CUUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NURTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of the Depaitment of Huma.n Resources is hereby <br />authorized and directed to apply to the Westem Reserve Area Agency on Aging for <br />funding for the City's Programs under Title III af the 1965 Older Americans Act (42 <br />USC 35) which provide funding for transportation, nutrition and support programs, and <br />partial funding for supplemental programs thereunder. <br />SECTION 2: It is found and determined that a11 formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that a11 deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately so that the application filing deadline of August 26, 2002 may be met, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />
