<br /> <br />CTl'Y OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002-11 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO RETAIN GARY G <br />JOHNSON, ESQ. DF THE LAW FIRM OF JOHNSON & ANGELO, F4R <br />THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING CONSULTING SERVICES TO ASSIST <br />THE CITY IN THE CURRENT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING <br />NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE INTERNATIDNAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE <br />FIGHTERS, LOCAL 1267, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted may employ consultants to provide professional <br />services needed by the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City ha.s a need to retain the services of an expert labor negotiatar for <br />the current collective bargaining negotiations with the Intemational Association of Fire Fighters, <br />Local 1267; and <br />WHEREAS, the results of these collective bargaining negotiations will have a very <br />significant fiscal and operational impact on the City; and <br />WHEREA5, the City has determined that the services that Gary C. Johnson would <br />provide to the City would enable it to participate more effectively in these negotiations; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to retain the <br />services of Gary C. Johnson, of the Law Firm of Johnson & Angelo, to provide consulting <br />services to assist the City, as Employer, in the current collective bargaining negotiations with the <br />International Association of Fire Fighters, Loca1 1267. The fees for such services shall be <br />rendered and accounted for on an hourly basis not to exceed $195.00 per hour, and the total <br />amount of the fees to be charged the City for the services rendered by Gary C. Johnson through <br />collective bargaining, fact finding and conciliation, shall not to exceed twenty thousand dollars <br />($20,000.00). <br />SECTION 2: It is found and determined that a11 formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the adoption of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in <br />such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />I
